Nosy Sakatia

We moved over to Nosy Sakatia, which turned out to be a bit rolly anchorage, but a calm island, with a few huts and some dive centres. People er friendly and in general leave us alone while we are on board New Dawn, but can be a bit pushing trying the sell their various souvenirs, which are generally double the prices of what we noted in Hell-Ville.

They live in self constructed huts, which has no furniture and they sit on the ground. This is a very poor country.

The coral seen so far in Madagascar are some of the healthies I have seen since Komodo, Indunisia. The below boat is an expedition charter boat that study the corals and the sea life. It is a French boat named "Fleur de Passion".


 Around New Dawn I have these flat fish all the time and there are hundreds of them. The people here eat them.
 Most people make their own kajack and use them to fish, which seems to be the basic food for them.

The Voile De Saint-Tropes is on again and last from 25 September to 10 October. There are 250 yachts taking part and they are a mixture of old and new yachts. The oldest was constructed in 1871, but many were constructed around 1920-1940 and are magnificently kept by dedicated owners and crew.  The below photos are my selection from our yesterday's visit to Saint-Tropez. Marigot Bay, St Martin.

Friday 8 May, 2020. We have now been on board for about 60 days and only been on land a couple of hours in St George, Grenada to go to the supermarket and a couple of smaller trips to get food delivered. So we are in need of exercise. What do we spend our time on? Well there are a lot of boat jobs to do before a long passage and we all chip in. Alex is extremely practical and a great problem solver when it comes to technical problems. He is also good at computer work and will be setting up some of the new equipment I have bought. The list has been long, but there are still many things to do. Serena is an excellent cook and has a lot of energy. She swim 2.000 meter each day around the boat, even though one is not allowed to swim at the moment, but that restriction will soon be lifted. She also do nearly each day an hour yoga and she does a lot of cooking and planning. She has taken charge of our food supply and is very practical in keeping New Dawn tidy. Today she clean...
