Honey River.

Image
We sailed to "Honey River", a name it got for the small village producing wild honey and I bought 3 litres of it.  The big full moon.   Honey.  This is one of the two school teachers in the town. The population id about 100 and the school counts 68 pupils, as there are kids coming from other villages in the river. These people are very poor and have no shops. Only thing to do is to make honey for the sailors coming and go fishing for their daily food. But none of them I met has any stress and they all seems OK.

From my today's walk in Crater Bay and on to the beach on the other side. People here are very poor and the living conditions are not good.  The Yacht Club.  Market.  Carrying several bags of sand.  A "shop" selling charcoal.  A restaurant.  They know how to use their head....  Another "shop".  Model ships.

These chaps fish in their small kayaks and can be far away from land. Once they set sail it is amazing how well they sail and with just 5-10 kn wind they can be fast. Look at the below photo and you will see his sail is made from different materials; read rice and flower sacks. But it works well.  The view from my office (cockpit). Look well and you will see some houses (huts).
